Profile of the Executive Mayor

Moeketsi Moshodi is currently the Executive Mayor of Fezile Dabi District Municipality. He is currently an additional member of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) of the African National Congress in the Free State. Mosholi is a determined, articulate individual with excellent communication skills. He has a National Teachers Diploma.

He worked as a teacher in 1995 until 2004 while was also a Ward Councillor at the same time. In 2006 he became a Regional Manager at Ngwathe Local Municipality. During the same year he was appointed as the Mayor of Ngwathe Local Municipality. Since 2011 to date he was redeployed as the Executive Mayor of Fezile Dabi District Municipality. He is an experienced senior political head of the municipality whose main duties are to enhance good governance, while promoting and protecting the constitutional status, powers and functions of the municipality.

He has an unimpeachable commitment to accomplishing the municipality‘s goals and is always prepared to render selfless service to the community. His quality is inspiring colleagues, officials, and the community.

The Executive Mayor is the former chairperson of SADTU at the Ngwathe branch. He was the Ward Councillor of ward 19. He is currently the ANC branch chairperson and a former Chief Whip of Ngwathe. Moshodi was an additional member of the Regional Executive Chairperson. He is also a former Deputy Chairperson of the REC in Fezile Dabi. He is a former Mayor of Ngwathe Local Municipality and a PEC member of SALGA in the Free State. He has an extensive experience in local government management, financial management and broader leadership skills; having worked at local government level.
